Evan Thomas Spiegel, commonly known as Evan Spiegel, lived a luxurious life with his lawyer mother and father, John W. Spiegel and Melissa Ann Thomas. Snapchat was not Evan's first project, but it succeeded by gradually improving itself through such an unsuccessful experience.

Youth period

Evan, who has a privileged life like Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was also a geek with a keen interest in technology and bought his first computer in the 6th grade. Moreover, he was experimenting with Photoshop during his school days and spending time at the local high school's art workshop on weekends.

He also worked in bars and clubs promoting Red Bull during his high school years.

Education Life

After graduating from school, he entered the product design department at Stanford University. He later joined the Kappa Sigma association, where he met Bobby Murphy, the other co-founder of Snapchat. Murphy hired Spiegel to design an online social network inspired by Google Circles, but Spiegel failed. Nevertheless, this work gave Evan recognition in the community, when he was noticed by Scott Cook in his guest lecture, and he received a job offer for the txtWeb project, which is about publishing written texts on the web.

His first project, together with Murphy, was an online software called Future Freshman, which aims to assist counselors, parents and high school students during their admission process. Although everything started well, things started to go wrong after a while, but fate would eventually give him a good opportunity to knock on the door.

Career

Together, Evan and Murphy formed the core rationale for Snapchat and began working with Brown on its development. At first they named it Picaboo, which is Brown's idea, but these project ideas were not supported by any investors. However, with some setbacks and question marks on why someone would want to share a picture that will disappear in the future, the group went into a decline.

Brown decided to separate the roads and asked for the refund of his contributions to the project with a 30% share. In addition, the original name was abandoned with the notice of a company with the same name.

As a result, Murphy and Spiegel cut Brown's relationship with management and named their project Snapchat, where they added a few new features. After this date, this application, which gradually started to attract the attention of young users, managed to turn into a million-dollar company over time with various developments and innovations.
