It is a classification that aims to collect and develop regional statistics, make socio-economic analysis of regions, determine the framework of regional policies and create a comparable statistical database in accordance with the European Union Regional Statistics System. In our country, according to this classification, 12 regions are determined as "Level 1", 26 sub-regions as "Level 2" and 81 provinces as "Level 3".
