With BiGG, TÜBİTAK gives great support to entrepreneurs to realize their business ideas.
With the 1512 Techno-Entrepreneurship Capital Support Program, it is aimed to support the activities from the idea stage to the market so that entrepreneurs can transform their technology and innovation-oriented business ideas into enterprises with high added value and qualified employment creation potential, thus, to encourage qualified entrepreneurship and to establish startup companies that have international competitive power, can develop innovative, high-tech products and services.
Within the scope of the program, entrepreneurship training is provided to entrepreneurs, as well as technical, commercial and administrative support is provided to entrepreneurs with guides with industry experience.
This program consists of three phases for transforming innovative business ideas into commercial products / processes / services, as explained below. The entrepreneur can complete each stage in order and move on to the next stage if approved by TÜBİTAK.
- a) Stage 1; is the stage where entrepreneurs present their business ideas to implementing organizations, where the implementing agency evaluates these business ideas, and offer accelerator services to entrepreneurs for business ideas that are likely to turn into a successful business plan. At this stage, the Implementing Organizations, which provide mentorship, cooperation networks, training, etc. support to entrepreneurs, carry out the technical and commercial verification of the idea in the process of transforming the business idea into a business plan. Stage 1, the business plan specified in the tech technoventure capital support call, is completed on the application deadline.
During the 1st Stage process, which will be carried out through 30 Implementing Agencies, business idea applications from all around Turkey and regardless of the technology field will be collected and evaluated by the Implementing Agencies, and entrepreneur candidates who will apply for Stage 2 will be determined. Entrepreneur candidates who have a technology-based, innovative, commercializable business idea and meet the criteria in the definition of "entrepreneur" in the Program's Implementation Principles are required to apply to the following Implementing Organizations, including the 1st Stage process.
- b) Stage 2; is the stage that starts with the evaluation of business plans within the framework of these Implementation Principles. For business plans that are deemed appropriate to be supported as a result of the evaluation, the entrepreneur is asked to establish a company in accordance with the definition of the organization within a defined period of time. After signing the contract between TÜBİTAK and the organization, capital support is provided as a grant without any guarantee. With the Technoventure Capital Support, the conceptual design, technical and economic feasibility, technological development (commercial prototype, demo, simulation, software algorithm, etc.) activities to be carried out within the framework of the business plan of the organization and the transformation of the outputs obtained as a result of these activities are included in Stage 2. TEYDEB can provide business directory support during Stage 2, depending on the organization's request.
- c) Stage 3; is the stage that aims to improve the output of the organization in the previous stage in terms of performance and functionality through R&D studies and to increase their commercialization potential. Stage 3 starts with the organization's application to the TÜBİTAK SME R&D Start Support Program by preparing a project proposal, and the evaluation of the project, whose technological verification has been made, within the framework of the criteria specific to this program. At this stage, activities such as detailed design, improvement of the commercial prototype in terms of function and performance, trials and field tests are carried out. Companies that have completed Stage 2 within the scope of these Implementation Principles or have been established by public administrations within the scope of central government under the Law No.5746 on Supporting Research and Development Activities, can apply to TUBITAK SME R&D Start Support Program within the scope of Stage 3 within 24 months after the end of the support. In the processes of supporting, monitoring and finalizing the projects within the scope of Stage 3, the provisions of the Implementation Principles of TÜBİTAK SME R&D Startup Support Program are applied.
