ETHICAL LEADERSHIP OF THE ENTREPRENEUR

If the responsibility of being an example can be crowned for an entrepreneur in the context of leadership in his own business or even in his own sector, then the entrepreneur's ethical leadership can be mentioned. The distinct differences between managing and leading are mentioned in almost every management and leadership book. Here, we will suffice to emphasize that the leadership quality is important in terms of business ethics as well as the ability to manage in terms of the permanent influence of an entrepreneur. In other words, it may be possible for the entrepreneurs with leadership characteristics to be referred to as "ethical leaders" in terms of being an ethical example in their sector as well as in their own businesses.

Otherwise, the following issues that may arise are of course important in terms of entrepreneurship. The idea that dishonesty can be passed from one person to another through social contagion shows that we need to take a different approach to curb it. We often tend to find minor violations from air to water. Minor crimes can be relatively minor, but they can signal that it is acceptable to mistreat on a larger scale when gathered in one person, many individuals or groups. Transmitted from person to person, dishonesty has a socially erosive effect on the slow and climbing tendency. As such "viruses" spread from one to the other, this time it may lead to the development of new and more ethically problematic behavioral codes (Ariely, 2014: 199). Therefore, many attitudes and behaviors that seem very simple are important for the entrepreneur's ethical leadership as in every field. It may be possible for every unimportant behavior to lead to even more problematic ethical behaviors and even to get used to it through entrepreneurs. Such a situation accelerates moral corruption in the business world in general.

Emphasis should be placed on the importance of attitudes and behaviors in ethical leadership rather than verbal or written rules. In this respect, the entrepreneur must first lead with his behavior. This situation is indispensable for leadership in terms of ethical values as well as business skills. Ultimately, the leadership effect of an entrepreneur who ignores ethical values will have an effect to a certain extent with the pressure of performance, and depending on the ethical dilemmas or problems that may arise, the leadership effect of the entrepreneur will be zero in terms of commercial success.
